This morning Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for the murders of his Wife and Son. This was a short sentencing hearing, the state did not bring fourth any victim impact witnesses. However Judge Neuman took his time issuing the sentence. He gave Murdaugh the opportunity to say something twice, and twice he said he was innocent. He asked him about the expression “oh what a tangled web we weave,” which he used during his testimony. Neuman asked Murdaugh what he meant by that. Murdaugh said, “I lied and continued to lie.” Neuman then said “when will it end?” earlier, a jurror gave an interview to Good morning America.
